JAKARTA: Unemployment rate of young population reaches 40% of total 200 million global-unemployed population.
Even, in several countries, young population recorded unemployment level by 2.8 times higher than that of in adult population.
International Labor Organization (ILO) viewed the unemployment level of young people was 4.6 times higher than that of adult people.
“Getting worthy job for young people still becomes a challenge for countries in the world including Indonesia,” Director of ILO Jakarta Peter van Rooij revealed today.
Therefore, a job network for young population titled Jejakmu (Jejaring Lapangan Kerja bagi Kaum Muda) is created to erase unemployment level of young population.
The job network is supported totally from the government by engaging senior policy makers of various state-owned institutions, private entities, and public agencies.
In addition, ILO Jakarta is being held a consulting meeting titled Young People Aspiration: Facing Global Challenge of Young Employment on Tuesday, March 27 2012 in Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Later, the result of the meeting will be listed in discussion agenda of ILO Conference on Young Employment Crisis in Jenewa in June 2012. (t01/msw)
