JAKARTA: PT Unggul Cahaya Indah Tbk, detergent raw materials producers, focused to boost its product utilization in the second half of 2012.
Unggul Cahaya Indah President Director Yani Alifen said this year the company is targeting to produce 180,000 metric tons of Alkybenzene by the end of this year.
“In second semester, our factories are able to fully operated. The company will boost utilization up to 75% from the total capacity as much as 270,000 metric tons,” she said in Jakarta, Monday evening (8/13).
In April 2012, the machine reparation had made one of the company’s factories located in Merak could not be operated for 1 month. It caused the company’s production volume in 1H/2012 to only increased 1% to 72,568 metric tons.
Yuni added the sloping production volume impacted the decreased sales volume. Throughout the first 6 months of this year, UNIC-coded public company produced 82,801 metric tons on Alkybenzene, down 2.5% compared to the same period in 2011.
However, the increase in average selling prices helped the company's sales performance. Unggul Cahaya posted US$236.97 million sales in June 2012, up 4.23% compared to the same period last year.
The opposite occurred in the net profit post which fell 35.79% to US$2.8 million. Yani commented the company’s performance was depressed by increasing operating expenses.
"The increase occurred in shipping costs and employees’ salary. In addition, the weakening rupiah in the IH/2012 caused the taxable income jumped high enough," he explained. (T07/aph)
