JAKARTA: Minister of SOEs Dahlan Iskan said he revoked two Ministry Decrees about delegating authority to the SOEs directors and commissioners due to political pressure.
“I fully realized that this is a political process. Something that I considered ideal could be politically considered as not ideal. It’s because politic is ruling right now,” he said after the SOEs Ministry Leadership Meeting in the office of PT Pann Multifinance (Persero) in Jakarta on Tuesday, May 22, 2012.
Such political pressure toward his policy can be seen with the existing plan from the House of Representatives to conduct interpellation.
Earlier, Dahlan Iskan through the letter No. S-254/MBU/2012 dated on May 12, 2012, posted in the SOEs Ministry Website revoked the Ministry Decree No. 164/MBU/2012 on the Stipulation of SOEs Minister Authorities as Government Representative as the Shareholder Meeting in Limited Liability Company to Become the Authorities of Board of Commissioners and Directors.
He also revoked the Ministry Decree No. 165/MBU/2012 on the Stipulation of SOEs Minister Authorities as Government Representative as the Owner of Capital in Public Corporation to Become the Authorities of Board of Commissioners and Directors.
In fact, those two Ministry Decrees were issued to replace Ministry Decree No. 236/MBU/2011 dated November 15, 2011, about Delegating SOEs Minister Authorities as Government Representative as the Shareholder in Limited Company and Limited Liability Company and the Owner of Capital in Public Corporation to Directors, Board of Directors/Board of Trustees and Echelon 1 in SOEs Ministry.
However, he emphasized the revocation of those two Ministry Decrees is not related with the appointment of five new directors of PT Pertamina, which conducted without any assessment from Final Assessment Team (TPA).
Dahlan also denied rumors that there had been a dispute between him and Minister of Energy Jero Wacik about the appointment of Pertamina's Board of Directors. (Antara/T06/aph)
