JAKARTA: Ministry of Finance predicted budget for subsidized energy might reach IDR319.7 trillion in 2013 if subsidized-fuel consumption reach 45 million kiloliter.
The subsidy is 19% of total government spending at IDR319.7 trillion in 2013, said Minister of Finance Agus D.W. Martowardojo. The figure might increase to IDR347.2 trillion in 2014.
According to the ministry projection, ministries/institutions (K/L) spending in 2013 will reach IDR541.4 trillion, non K/L spending IDR512.9 trillion and regions IDR514.4 trillion.
71.2% of 2013’s total spending is non-discretionary and the rest is for capital expenses.
Due to the amount of subsidy, the budget deficit in 2013 is estimated to arrive at 1.74% and decrease to 1.23% in 2014. Ratio of debt to gross domestic product is expected to decline to 22% in 2013 from 23% in 2012 with GDP IDR9871 trillion. (T05) (faa)
