SOUTH KOREAN STOCKS slips 0.4%

SEOUL: The Kospi index slipped 0.4%, falling for a fourth day to 1,822.87 as of 9:20 a.m. in Seoul.
Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea’s biggest carmaker, retreated 1.1% to 225,500 won, heading toward the lowest close since March 26.
 
 
Kia Motors Corp., an affiliate, dropped 0.8% to 72,500 won. Voting results of Hyundai and Kia unions’ plan to strike will be announced today.
 
 
LG Electronics Inc. lost 0.8% to 60,300 won, heading toward the lowest close since June 28.
SK Securities Co. reduced its share-price estimate to 85,000 won from 120,000 won, citing a potential loss in its mobile-phone business.(Bloomberg/T03/TW)
