TUBAN: PT Semen Gresik (Persero) Tbk this year is projecting an increase in production up to 11.3 million tons from four units of cement plant unit in Tuban, East Java.
The projection is considering the operation of Tuban plant IV since the mid-April with an installed capacity of 2.5 million tons per annum. Cement production volume from 3 plants in Tuban was 9.8 million tons in 2011.
Sementara tingkat utilisasi pabrik semen Tuban unit IV kini sebesar 80% dan hingga akhir Desember mendatang ditargetkan 1,5 juta ton semen. Pabrik itu dijadwalkan diresmikan Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono pada 24 Mei mendatang.
Meanwhile, the utilization rate of the Tuban cement plant unit IV was 80%, and until the end of December 2012, the production is targeted to reach 1.5 million tons of cement. The factory will be inaugurated by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on May 24.
President Director of PT Semen Gresik (Persero) Tbk Dwi Soetjipto said the state-owned cement plant Tuban IV this month is capable to averagely produce 5,000 tons of cement/day, since the fire on on April 5, and start the production on April 15.
According to him, the plant is scheduled to start production with 100% utilization rate from the beginning of July, and until the end of December.
"By the operation of the plant Tuban IV, our group this year will be able to increase total cement production to 22.5 million tons, including Semen Padang and Semen Tonasa, so that it remains capable to use the cement market share in domestic by 55%," Dwi told reporters on Thursday May 17, 2012.
Dwi said the operational of Tuban plant IV will raise the SG Group's revenue by 15% to IDR19 trillion, after the state-owned cement producer realized revenue of IDR16.4 trillion with net profit of IDR3.9 trillion in 2011.(T03/TW)
