JAKARTA: PT Pertamina Hulu Energi, a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero) is targeting to complete the development of 125 wells in 2012. Until the first half of 2012, there were 47 successful developed wells.

Salis Aprilian, President Director of PHE said of the existing 47 wells, approximately 36 wells had been completed and 11 wells are still ongoing. In the meantime, to find new oil reserves, PHE is also conducting exploration drilling activities.

"Of the 64 wells, 14 wells have been drilled. There are a number of dry holes that are not economical enough for the production, "he said on Friday (8/3/2012).

He said all the wells are scattered across the world, but mostly located in Indonesia, especially in the Sumatra offshore and West Madura offshore.

Meanwhile, up to IH/2012, PHE oil output has reached 60,000 bpd from the target of 70,000 bpd. "So it has not yet met the target. However, the company will try to increase the drilling rig in the Offshore North West Java (ONWJ) and the West Madura Offshore (WMO)," he added.

While, PHE gas output has exceeded the target of 486 MMSCFD. "As for the gas it has been 100%, even it has exceeded the current target. The current realization is 492 MMSCFD," said Salis.

Then, until now PHE has been disbursed capital expenditure (Capex) amounted to US$422 million, from a target of US$542 million in July. This value is about 40% of total capex this year which set at US$1.3 billion.(T03/msw)
