JAKARTA: Pharmacy industry is optimist about achieving sales in 2012 by IDR50 trillion although at the end of the first semester the growth is predicted to fell slightly.
Executive director of Indonesia Pharmaceutical Industry Association (GPFI), Dorodjatun Sanusi said this industry will likely to grow 15% in 2012 compared with previous year.
In the first semester of 2012, the industry recorded a growth of up to 20% as supported by two types of products.
"Over The Counter [OTC] and ethical products still dominate the sales by increasing more than 20%," he told Bisnis on Monday (8/6/2012).
Generic products or products without trademark also keep growing and sustaining the performance of this sector.
in 1H/2012, the sales is predicted to exceed IDR27.5 billion or increased over the same period last year which only around IDR24 trillion. (tw)
