SINGAPORE: Petroliam Nasional Bhd. resumed the operation of a crude distillation unit at its Melaka II refinery in Malaysia after two weeks of unplanned maintenance, according to two people with knowledge of the matter.
The unit started on about Aug. 18, said the people who asked not to be identified because the information is confidential. The 162,000 barrel-a-day refinery is jointly owned by the Malaysian state oil company, known as Petronas, and Phillips 66.
Nobody answered two phone calls and an e-mail to Petronas’ press office in Kuala Lumpur. (Bloomberg/aph)
