JAKARTA: PT Pertamina (Persero) is optimistic that the development of two oil refineries will be completed in 2018.
Processing Director of Pertamina Chrisna Damayanto said the process of the refinery development is still on the feasibility study stage. "We are optimistic that the refinery project can be completed in 2018. Indeed, the construction of refinery is still facing obstacles, such as incentives for investors and also land bank, " he said Wednesday (20/6)
However, Damayanto said, the company is still making efforts to ensure the project run according to the plan.
According to him, the state-owned oil and gas company has been decided to postpone the previous location for the refinery in Balongan, West Java and Tuban, East Java. Some options about the location of the refinery, especially in the company’s land bank, is still being studied.
"We offer the location of the refinery in Bontang, East Kalimantan to investors. In Bontang, Pertamina has its own land area of 1,800 ha, "he said.
The plan to move of the location of the new refinery from Balongan and Tuban to Pertamina’s land is done as the rampant land speculation in the two areas.(T03/aph)
