JAKARTA: PT Pertamina (Persero) will issue US dollar-denominated global bond above US$2 billion this year.
Restructuring and Strategic Planning Deputty Pandu Djajanto said the plan has been reported to State-Owned Enterprise Ministry.
He said the entire global bond funds will be used for upstream and downstream business investment.
Contacted separately, Corporate Communication Vice President Mochamad Harun said Pertamina is preparing the plan of such issuance; however he refused to explain the detail regarding the bond issuance value and mechanism.
He said the oil and gas state-owned enterprise has appointed several underwriters but he has yet to determine the time of the roadshow.
Based from information quoted from Antara, Pertamina President Director Karen Agustiawan admitted that the company has appointed three joint lead manages in issuing global bonds, Barclay Capital, Citi Group, and HSBC.
According to Bisnis data, pertamina has also issued global bonds worth of US$1.5 billion in stages last year which contains 10-year bond worth of US$1 billion and 30-years bond worth of US$500 million, each has been oversubscribed 7 and 10 times respectively.
During global bond issuance last year, Pertamina appointed Credit Suisse, Citibank, and HSBC as underwriters. (T07/msw)
