JAKARTA: National banking pocketed IDR21.61 trillion net profit in the first three months of 2012, rose 17.95% than IDR18.32 trillion on the same period last year.
Based on Bank Indonesia’s data, published today May 16, 2012, the hike was due to higher net interest to IDR45.64 trillion from IDR41.19 trillion.
Such improvement motored by credit expansion to IDR2,282 trillion in March from IDR1,824 trillion. Banks’ third party fund increased 20.16% to IDR2,825 from IDR2,351 in March 2011.
Up to the end of March 2012, banks in Indonesia noted total assets as much as IDR3,708 trillion, rose 20.98% from last year at IDR3,065 trillion. (T05/TW)
