LOS ANGELES: Katherine Jackson, the mother of the pop superstars Michael and Janet Jackson, was reported missing to authorities on Saturday night, according to reports.
According to her granddaughter’s tweets, Paris Jackson, Michael's 14-year-old daughter, claimed that her grandmother has been missing as she has not spoken to her in a week. “@ParisJackson : yes , my grandmother is missing . i haven't spoken with her in a week i want her home now .”
Paris Jackson in his tweet even asked for help if anybody sees her grandmother, please call the authorities or this number a security number.
“@ParisJackson : if anybody sees my grandmother , please call the authorities or this number— (818)-876-0186 it's the security number .. thank you so much”
According to CNN as cited by Huffington Post, Jackson's lawyer believed Katherine Jackson had been traveling with Rebbie Jackson, her daughter.
"I am concerned that she is not safe," Sandra Ribera, the lawyer, said. Jackson is 82.
Meanwhile, a police spokesman said that the missing persons report was filed by Trent Jackson, Katherine's nephew.
Michael's three children have lived with Katherine since their father's death in 2009, Ribera said. Ribera added that Katherine had not contacted the grandchildren in a week.
The missing persons report comes in the middle of a heated dispute over Michael's will, and conflicting reports over Katherine's health.
Michael's siblings claim the will was forged, and have called for the firing of John Branca and John McClain, the executors of his estate.
Safe and Well
In the latest news, citing from Reuters, Jermaine Jackson, brother of late pop singer Michael Jackson, said on Sunday (22/07/2012) that his mother, Katherine, was not missing as other relatives reported to authorities this weekend, but resting with family in Arizona on doctor's advice.
Jermaine Jackson put out a statement on Twitter on Sunday saying Katherine was "safe and well" and with her daughter Rebbie.
"This incredulous claim was made for reasons best known to the adults who filed it. But it seems no accident that it comes after we, the sons and daughters, put in place caretaking for our own mother, taking her to Arizona in line with doctor's advice following a check-up," Jackson said.
"Furthermore, it dismays me that such an alarmist 'missing person' report has caused unnecessary anxiety among Michael's children who will understandably react to what they misunderstand, hear or are told."
Jackson also addressed the lack of communication between Katherine and her grandchildren, saying No-one is being blocked from speaking with mother.
She is merely an 82-year-old woman following doctor's orders to rest up and destress, away from phones and computers, he said. (T03/aph)
