JAKARTA: Major developers are planning to develop industrial park as demands and prices of such park continue to increase from 2010.
Such development of industrial park is not only limited in Jakarta and its surrounding areas but also in other major cities, although infrastructure in those cities is not as good in the capital and its surrounding areas, Associate Director of Colliers International Indonesia Rivan Munansa said.
"The growth of industrial park in Indonesia was flat before 2010 but demands and prices for such park continued to grow after that year, making developers set eye on industrial park development. Limited land area and higher price in Jakarta led to development of industrial park in secondary cities like Surabaya and other cities," Rivan told Bisnis Monday (7/2/2012).
Most of demands for industrial park come from foreign investors. They are willing to expand outside Greater Jakarta (Jakarta, Bogor Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi) due to limited land area and higher price in Jakarta and its surrounding areas.
"Several major developers will see this opportunity and begin to develop a great industrial park. Although the infrastructure isn't good as Jakarta but at least it already has toll road," he said.
As earlier reported, more than 100 Japanese investors are in talks to establish plant in industrial park in Indonesia by 2013-2014. (T06/aph)
