JAKARTA: Indonesian Heavy Equipment Industry Association (Hinabi) is poised to add an investment of US$300 million in the next 3 years to build new plant to improve production capacity up to 15,000 units.
Hinabi Head Pratjojo Dewo estimates demand of heavy equipment for construction project and mining may reach 25,000 units until 2015.
Local companies target to produce 15,000 units or 60% of heavy equipment needs to fulfill such demand, while the remaining could be imported from abroad.
Meanwhile, Hinabi eyes to produce 10,000 units this year from the total projected needs of 18,000 – 19,000 units. (T06/msw)
