BINTAN: PT Indofood Sukses Makmur CBP Sukses Tbk will establish two new companies with total investment of IDR1.8 trillion–IDR2 trillion with Japan-based company, Asahi Group Holdings Southeast Asia Pte Ltd.
Those two companies will focus in non-alcohol beverage, including mineral water.
The joint venture company is PT Asahi Indofood Beverage Makmur which will move in manufacturing, while PT Indofood Asahi Sukes Beverage will focus in marketing and distribution.
In Asahi Indofood Beverage Makmur, Indofood CBP holds 49% interest and Asahi Group is the major shareholder with 51%. Meanwhile, in Indofood Asahi Sukses Beverage, Indofood CBP has 51% of interest and Asahi Group has 49%.
Both companies have signed joint venture agreement yesterday (7/9/2012) in Bintan, Riau Islands.
“Total investment for the first stage will be between IDR1.8 trillion and IDR2 trillion. The construction of the plant is targeted to be complete within 24 months,” said President Director of Indofood CBP Athoni Salim.
He said 70% of the funds will be used for the development of manufacturer, and the rest will be used for distribution activities.(T03/TW
