MARKET MOVING: Fuel price hike may raise poverty rate

JAKARTA: Risk of slowing economy and high inflation rate entailing the fuel price hike may raise the poverty rate 10.5%-11.5% to 11.93%-12.08%.

Armida Sjalsiah Alisjahbana, Minister of National Development Plan/Head of National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), said that the fuel price hile will drag up the food price and spending of poor families thus declining the people's purchasing power and food consumption. (NOM)
