JAKARTA: PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk recorded transaction value from remittance service during January-June period for IDR2.91 trillion.
Finance Director of Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Achmad Baiquni said the remittance transactions were mostly come from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia.
Until first half of 2012, the remittance of BRI has exceeded last year’s number. In 2012. The bank recorded remittance amounted IDR2,43 trillion with transaction volume of 795,000.
“Until the end of 2012, we expect the value and the transaction can grow 29%, compared with last year,” he said yesterday (8/14/2012)
According to Baiquni, fee based income obtained by BRI has reached IDR26 billion, and the company is targeting non-interest income which may reach IDR41 billion at the end of 2012.
Meanwhile, remittance in December 2011, the company pocketed fee based income of IDR26.34 billion.
According Achmad, near Islamic holiday remittance transaction was boosted by a lot of Indonesian workers who use this service. He predicted the growth can reach 40% compared with usual day.
The biggest contribution of BRI’s remittance business was contributed by Indonesian workers who work in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Middle East countries.
In the same occasion, BRI is targeting a plan to acquire securities at the end of this year.
President Director of BRI Sofyan Basir said the company wants the acquisition process to be finished on time in 2H/2012. (T03/TW)
