JAKARTA: Bakrie Group is preparing more than IDR10 trillion to build Trans Kalimantan Economic Zone.
In order to realize such megaproject, the group establishes a new company called PT Bakrie Eco Investa.
The new company’s shares are controlled by PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk along with its subsidiary, i.e. PT Bakrie Telecom Tbk and PT Bakrie Energy.
Trans Kalimantan Economic Zone is one of four industrial park projects from Bakrie Eco Investa in Java (two projects), Sumatra, and Indonesia eastern region.
Bakrie Eco Investa Chief Executive Officer Hiramsyah S. Thaib projected the new company will begin to operate in the next 3 years.
“It’s currently under establishment process. This is a joint project where 100% shares controlled by Bakrie Group but in the future we will be looking for investment partners,” he said on Thursday, June 7, 2012.
Several investors from US, China, and Japan are interested to cooperate with Bakrie. (T06/MSW)
