JAKARTA: PT Marga Mandala Sakti, operator of 72-kilometer Tangerang-Merak toll road, will allocated IDR500 billion for the widening of 16-kilometer road from Cikupa to West Balaraja.
Such allocation is equivalent to 76.5% of the total capital expenditure (capex) to be disbursed next year valuing IDR650 billion.
PT Marga Mandala Sakti (MMS) President Director Wiwiek D Santoso admitted that the company’s capex for next year will increase more than 100% compared to this year’s capex at IDR300 billion.
“It’s caused by the widening of toll road from Cikupa to West Balaraja and vice versa. Each lane has eight kilometer length, making total length of the roads to be widened reaching to 16 kilometer,” Wiwiek said in Jakarta on Thursday (8/9/2012).
The toll road widening is carried out to anticipate the predicted increase in daily vehicle traffic in 2013. The current daily vehicle traffic in the toll road is estimated around 100,000 vehicles per day.
As for the remaining capex as much as IDR150 billion will be used for fiber optic installation along the toll road as well as operations or management activities of other companies
The fiber optic is used to improve communication system between substations, primarily to monitor traffic flow for road users.
According to Wiwiek, 70% of the capex will derive from Bank Mandiri and the remaining 30% from internal cash. (T06/msw)
