Kebon Jeruk – Ulujami Toll Road to Operate Early 2013

JAKARTA: Government targeted Kebon Jeruk – Ulujami Jakarta Outer ring Road (JORR) W2 along 7.67 km to start operating early next year although the land acquisition has yet to be accomplished.

The target was actually faster than the initial plan which scheduled in mid-2013.

Public works vice Minister Hermanto Dardak said the toll road construction speed-up worth of IDR2.23 trillion was done in order to immediately connect the toll road with other existing toll roads to reduce traffic congestion in Jakarta.

“The construction process must be hastened and realized on early next year although several lands has yet to be acquired,” Hermanto said, Friday, April 13, 2012.

He said that there were several land spots which hasn’t been acquired such as lands in Meruya Selatan, Meruya Utara and lands owned by PT Intercom. The ministry coordinated with DKI Jakarta Provincial Secretary to speed-up the land acquisition process.

As the initial phase, he also asked JORR W2 toll road claim holder, PT Marga Lintas Jakarta to immediately complete the bridge construction in Kebon Jeruk Interchange which will be connected to JORR W1 toll road. (T07/msw)
