JCI increases 37.98 points at 3,993 at midday break

JAKARTA: Ending the first session, Jakarta Composite Index reached 3,993.55. Indonesia’ rupiah noted at 9,403, increased 30 points or +0.32% against US dollar from Friday closing at 9433. The currency moved within the range of 9,365-9,419.

JCI increased +37.98 points or +0.96% at 12:00 p.m. Jakarta time than last Friday’s closing level at 3,955.57 following positive Asia markets sentiment. The index moved within the range of 3,972.36-3,997.31.

Among 445 members, 127 shares increased, 66 decreased and 252 stagnant.

Astra International led the gain with +4.62 points to IDR6950,followed by Unilever Indonesia with +4.35 to IDR23400, Adaro Energy with +4.01 to IDR1560 and Semen Gresik with +2.71 to IDR11700.

Charoen Pokphand hold from further growth with -1.87 point to IDR3325, followed by Visi Media with -0.53 point to IDR700, XL Axiata with -0.49 point to IDR6100 and PP London Sumatra with -0.39 to IDR2625.

Eight sectoral indices gave positive contribution motored by mining with +36.57%, consumer goods with +16.37% and finance with +15.24%.

In line with JCI, Bisnis-27 increased +3.74 points or 1.12% to 337.01 from last Friday’s closing level at 333.27. The index moved within the range of 334.59-337.44.

For regional sectors, Japan’ Nikkei 225 +0.43% to 9046.68, Hong Kong’ Hang Seng +2.19% to 19441.46, Taiwan’ Taiex +0.79% to 7353.78, South Korea’ Kospi +0.22% to 1858.47, Australia’ S&P/ASX 200 +1.02% to 4136.90, Singapore’ FTSE Straits Times +0.69% to 2898.01 and MSCI Asia +0.10% to 778.02.
