JAKARTA: Indonesia Education League (LPI) is poised to send eight talented teen players to join football training and study in Madrid, Spain.
“This is part of LPI program to send young talented players to studying and training in Madrid,” LPI chief Toho Cholic Mutohir said on Monday, April 23, 2012.
All the players have joined training camp in Semarang since December last year. In addition, they also attended a language course and learned Spanish culture.
As cited from LPI website, those players are third grade students of junior high school namely Dwi Chandra Rukmana and Thomas Kristianda (state junior high school of 4 Semarang), M. Dimas Drajad (state junior high school of 3 Gresik), Ronaldo Lolombulan (state junior high school of 13 Yogyakarta), Carli Xaronika (state junior high school of 1 Salo Kampar - Riau), Aldo Claudio (state junior high school of 223 Jakarta), M. Ilham F (state junior high school of 16 Tangerang), and TM. Ichsan (state junior high school of 1 Peusangan – Aceh).
However, those eight players are currently returning to their school to participate in national exam.
“They will return to Semarang after the national exam for final preparation before departing to Madrid,” LPI Secretary General Edhi Prasetyo said.
As planned, the young players will depart to Spain before May. “This is related to the school schedule as informed by Indonesian Embassy in Madrid,” he added. (faa)
