Hutchison Ports commits for investment in port sector of Indonesia

HONG KONG: Hutchisan Ports Holding keeps committing to invest in Indonesia by developing the port-infrastructure sector, even though getting failed for a construction project of Kalibaru Terminal in Tanjung Periok Port with total investment of IDR22.7 trillion.

Stephen Ashworth, Chief Executive Officer Hutschison Ports Indonesia viewed the infrastructure sector has a strategic position and becomes a main key for Indonesia’s economic growth.

Today, HPI has controlled 51% shares of PT Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT), one of the largest terminal operators in Tanjung Priok Port.

The company’s commitment is realized by participating in development and construction of infrastructures in container ports and in improvement of human resources’ quality of Indonesia in port sector. (t01/msw)
