JAKARTA: PT Hutama Karya, a state-owned construction company, is targeting 35 new infrastructure projects to gain IDR5.9 trillion contracts in second quarter of 2012, as part of the efforts to achieve the target of winning new projects at IDR9.4 trillion this year.
The company has won IDR3.5 trillion new contracts until the first half of this year or higher than the achievement in the first half of last year around IDR1.6 trillion, PT Hutama Karya Corporate Secretary Ari Widiyantoro said.
Initially, Hutama Karya targets the contracted value and project to reach IDR8.1 trillion this year. However, the target of winning new project is increased to IDR9.4 trillion after seeing several potential projects in the first quarter.
“This year, we could reach the target of winning new projects at IDR9.4 trillion but the contracted projects is likely to reach IDR8.1 trillion, as many new projects are likely be won by the end of the year so that it will be contracted at the beginning of the year,” he said on Wednesday (8/8/2012).
The company is optimistic to gain IDR5.9 trillion new contracts in the last 6 months. Therefore, it has indexed 35 projects as target.
20 Projects are the company’s construction projects, while 15 others are projects that will be carried out under a joint venture with other companies.
“We are optimistic since the construction market is currently favorable and we also hold the list of targeted projects,” he said.
Moreover, Hutama Karya has opened two new regions, Palembang and East Java, which is potential to deliver new projects. (T06/TW)
