JAKARTA: PT Bank Mandiri Tbk in corporation with PT Semen Gresik distributed community development fund IDR2.48 billion to improve education and public facilities in East Java.
Bank Mandiri contributed 80% of the total aid or about IDR1.9 billion. Approximately IDR2.29 billion are used to improve the quality of education facilities, such as repair of five schools and provision of support learning tools.
The rest of IDR192 million used for expansion or improvement the capacity of the reservoirs and provision of clean water pumps in Lamongan.
Schools that received community development funds from Bank Mandiri and Semen Gresik are Islamic Elementary School (MI) Muhammadiyah 4 babat, Lamongan: MI Al Huda Babat Lamongan, Sunan Bejagung Islamic Junior High School Tuban, State Vocational High School 3 Tuban and State Vocational High School Jatirogo, Tuban.
The delivery of aid has been held in Gresik on last Friday.
“Hopefully, all the aid can give an optimal benefits, both for students and teachers in five schools and society of Tuban and Lamongan,” said Vice President of Bank Mandiri Riswinandi in press statement, Sunday (9/23/2012).
As of August 2012, Bank Mandiri has distributed the community development IDR18.55 billion in East Java. In addition, the company led by Zulkifli Zaini distributed the partnership program funds IDR23.19 billion to 838 businesses in East Java. (t08/tw)
