Central Java prepares commercial airports in Blora & Purbalingga

SEMARANG: Central Java Provincial Government is ready to realize the development of the Ngloram Blora Airport in North Coast of Java (Pantura) and Wirasaba Purbalingga in southern Central Java and for a commercial purpose, following the rapid industrial growth in both areas.

 
Central Java Governor Bibit Waluyo said Ngloram airport development, in Blora district will be realized through cooperation with the Central Java Provincial Government and Blora regency, after receiving letters of recommendation from Ministry of Transportation.

 
Ngloram airport development, he added, which located near Cepu will be realized with the financing support from Central Java and Blora regency budget.

 
Ngloram airport, in Blora district has a runway of 1,000 meters by 20 meters wide and it is vacuum, as the land is still owned by PPT Migas Cepu.


Blora Regent Djoko Nugroho said the airport development, as part of efforts to support the exploitation and exploration of oil and gas in Cepu, besides serving the public passengers.

 
According to him, reactivating Ngloram Airpor needs great funding, in addition to extending the runway, as well as supporting several other facilities.

 
Central Java Provincial Government is now also preparing two options related to the construction of airport development. The first option, the development will be fully handed over to investors and the government owned enterprises.


Ngloram airport development, he added, in the future will be set for commercial interests, so it would not be contrary to development plan of Cepu facilities done by ExxonMobile.

 
While the development plan of Wirasaba airport in Purbalingga will also be developed, because the location is larger than the Airport Wait Wulung Cilacap. (T03/aph)
