JAKARTA: President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono urged to implement the national economic rescue by May 2012 although government is still hampered by the infrastructure to implement the fuel policy.
The president affirmation was one of several measures taken after the plan to rise fuel price by The Parliament on April 1. Yudhoyono said the policy was taken given that during this year the national economy faces several challenges either from internal or external.
"We will implement the government policy and measure starting on May until the end of this year," President Yudhoyono said when opening a limited ministry meeting that involved National Economic Committee in Presidential Office, yesterday.
On the other hand, Coordinating Minister of Economy Hatta Rajasa said the government has not decided the implementation of subsidized fuel control although May 1 due date which according to previous government's proposal is only few days away. "Everything needs preparations," Hatta said. (T07/aph)
