JAKARTA: PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk disburses IDR225 billion loans to PT Indonusa Telemedia or known as Telkom Vision, a subsidiary of PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk.
The lending is for Telkom Vision capital expenditure in 2012, including purchasing of decoder and prepaid television infrastructures.
According to Director of Institutional Business and State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Asmawi Syam, media has a huge potential for business growth since the market penetration is still low.
“In addition, the industry has a high resilience level against the changing of macroeconomic conditions,” he said as cited from press release sent to Bisnis on Tuesday, April 24, 2012.
BRI is poised to support Telkom Vision business expansion to become the market leader in prepaid television industry.
“BRI's business unit, which is the largest and spread all over Indonesia, is ready to provide financial services, particularly to acquire customer and become payment channel for Telkom Vision,” said Asmawi.
BRI also sealed agreement with Telkom Vision to cooperate in credit card, BRI Vision program, purchase of prepaid voucher via e-channel BRI, and special program for BRI employees who will subscribe for Telkom Vision program.
Later, both companies will also cooperate in employees’ payroll payment through BRI, Car Ownership Program (COP), and Home Ownership Program (HOP).
Up to now, BRI has disbursed loan to Telkom Group totaling to IDR6.18 trillion. It will continue to grow since BRI allocates IDR3.25 trillion loans for Telkom this year to support its investment plan.
As earlier reported, BRI’s total loan portfolios for state-owned companies has reached IDR80.6 trillion as of March 2012. Such lending has been done almost for all SOE’s business sectors, such as mining, energy, transportation, food, logistic, infrastructure, telecommunication, defense, and also forestry and plantation.
