SURABAYA: PT BNI Syariah continues to expand by planning an additional 10 branches and 30 supporting branches next year.
BNI Syariah President Director Rizqullah revealed that it takes IDR1.5 billion for building a branch office while it costs the bank IDR700 million for as upporting branch.
"We have picked up some locations in Indonesia, particularly where our services are still absence," he told press during a workshop on redesigning the curriculum for Sharia Economy Studies at IAIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, on December 27.
He thinks the expansion is merely to expand the network and finally boosts the bank's performance. Adding to this, the new branch opening will offer more jobs to the market. BNI Syariah is currently managing 38 branch officesand almost 100 supporting branches across the country.
"We are planning to open 55 micro financing units, costing us IDR500 million per unit," explained Rizqullah.
The micro financing units will focus on providing lending to micro, small, and medium units starting from IDR5 million up to IDR500 million at maximum.
Rizqullah said the bank is targeting IDR8.2 trilion assets at year end and eyeing asset growth of 30% by 2012. (NOM)
