JAKARTA: PT Axis Telecom Indonesia prepared networks to support service traffic which will increase in Eid Al-Fitr day by improving service capacity.
Axis Chief Technology Officer Michael McPhail said Axis has allocated large investment to expand service coverage in this year.
“We increased voice service capacity by twofold and data service capaticy up to tenfolds,” he said in a written statement received by Bisnis on Friday (8/3/2012).
Besides preparing network, Axis also performed a through network quality test along the most crowded route in Java Island.

Network quality test results from Merak, West Java to Banyuwangi, East Java showed that Axis network is ready to provide a seamless and reliable communication experience to all customers during the holiday.
McPhail explained Axis 2G network quality test results showed that from 3,274 calls made, the call setup success rate was very good 99.14%.
So does with the call completion success rate which was very good at 98.90%.
The 2G data service also showed similar result. Maximum data throughput was also very good at 260.1 kbps, the average signal strength at -67.4 dBm and average signal quality was 0.9.
The Axis 3G network quality test result showed that from 793 calls made, CSSR was 98.36%, CCSR 97.85%, maximum data throughput was 3,056 kbps, the average signal strength was -86.6 dBm and the average signal quality was good at -7.86 dB.
During Eid al-Fitr, the company predicted there will be a voice traffic spike of up to 50%, data services will increase more than tripled, SMS will increase by two fold. (T07/TW)
