SYDNEY: Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 Index fell 0.2% to 4,360.10 at 10:20 a.m. in Sydney. New Zealand’s NZX 50 Index slid 0.2% to 3,509.65 in Wellington.
The following were among the most active shares in the market today:
AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. (AGG AU) gained 1.1% to A$6.40, the most in a week. Societe Generale SA rated its U.S.- listed American depositary receipts “buy” in new coverage.
APN News & Media Ltd. (APN AU) lost 1.2% to 84 cents as the company begins its search for an independent chair following the resignation of Gavin O’Reilly.
Cockatoo Coal Ltd. (COK AU) dropped 5.8% to 32.5 cents after SK Networks Co. said it will not pursue its intention to buy 40% of the Australian exploration company following an internal review.
Macquarie Atlas Roads Group (MQA AU) advanced 2.8% to A$1.675 after saying that revenue climbed in the first quarter.
New Zealand stocks:
