JAKARTA: The government will boost investment inflow to offset export decline which resulted from less favorable global economic turmoil.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono stated the government will cut barriers hampering investment into the country.
“We should not miss the opportunity amid less favorable global economic turmoil. The declining export must be covered with investment growth in the country,” he said during Independence Day Speech in front of the joint session of the Parliament and Council in the Parliament Building on Thursday (08/16/2012).
It will also encourage the development of infrastructure, and remove all obstacles to realize such development.
In addition, the government also requested all parties to see the great potential in the domestic market so that it can be optimized.
“Logistic costs should be lowered continuously. The barriers toward businesses, investments and infrastructure developments must be overcome and removed,” he added. (T06/aph)
