SURABAYA: Three hotels under Accor Group network in Surabaya eyed an increase in occupancy rate to 85% following a global partnership with Garuda Indonesia in developing the online booking business.
Those three hotels are Mercure, Novotel and Ibis Surabaya.
Mercure Grand Mirama General Manager Windiarto said currently average hotel occupancy rate is in the range of 75% - 80%.
He hoped the partnership with Garuda could boost the hotel occupancy rate by 5% so the total three hotels occupancy rate could reach 85% per month.
He said the online hotel room booking trends keeps increasing, but not quite great. There are 9% of the total bookings in three Accor Network hotels in Surabaya which use online booking system.
"Most of the rooms are still conventionally booked such as from travel agents and so on," he said on Indonesian version of Accor portal launching in Surabaya, Friday, June 8, 2012.
However Windi was optimist the online transactions rate in hotel sector will increase as the growth of internet utilization itself.
"Moreover, Accor has launched a portal website in Indonesian language," he said. (T07/TW)
