KARAWANG, West Java: PT ABC President Indonesia, a national manufacturer of consumer goods, poured investment of US$20 million for the development of new milk tea product which will be released on the market.
Suradja Herman, Chief Executive Officer of PT ABC President Indonesia, said the investment was used to purchase the machines with aseptic cold filling technology in factory located in Karawang, West Java.
In addition, he added, the investment is also used to purchase equipment and support the warehouse expansion to accommodate the newly developed products.
He explained the purchase of the machine have been done years ago. The assembly will take approximately nine months. The new product will be released in the market this summer.
"We have strengthened the tea business line that have been developed since 2005," he said today.
Previously, PT ABC President Indonesia has released a green tea product under the brand name, Nu Green Tea. The milk tea products being developed today have Nu Brand Milk Tea.
Herman describes the current ABC President has a factory in Karachi, West Java, for the manufacture of beverages and instant noodles.
Area of the plant is 7 hectares and has a production capacity of 600 bottles per minute for maximum speed.
With the development of new products, he said, the company ensured that there is an additional line of production and human resources (HR).
"However, it is not significant," he said.
She said that the packaged tea in domestic market is still very large to be developed.
Currently, he said, that the last year’s production capacity reached 1.1 billion liters. (T03/msw)
