JAKARTA: Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) targeted at least five toll roads will be operated next year following the nearly-completed construction process.
Those five toll road are JORR W2, Bawen – Ungaran, Serangan – Tanjung Benoa Bali, Section 4 of Surabaya – Mojokerto, and Section 1 and 2 of Mojokerto – Kertosono.
Head of BPJT Ahmad Ghani Gazaly said the target is in line with the agency's work plan, and is expected to be realized on the schedule.
"We are targeting five toll roads which operate. Currently, the construction is being accelerated, including land acquisition for several spot that have not been acquired," said Ghani, Monday (8/13/2012).
He said the construction of each segment has distinct progress, so it is uncertain which segments will first be operated. Obviously, the operational process will be done gradually until the end of this year. Jakarta Outer Ring Road will likely soon be operated.
Meanwhile, Ghani ensured the Mojokerto – Kertosono toll road operations managed by PT Marga Hanura instrinsic (MHI) was delayed from 2012 to mid-2013. The operations delays on the 15-kilometer Bandar – Jombang toll route was because the land acquisition progress has not been completed.
"The land in Jombang is still in dispute, so it cannot beacquired. Now we're trying to accelerate the process because the landowner did not want to sell it," he said.
Previously, PT MHI Director Legowo said it’s quite difficult to realize the toll road because there are some constraints such as land acquisition problems, which only one out of four sectors to be built which has been processed by 81%. The rest are still in land acquisition process. (T07/msw)
